Srinagar, Dec 10 (KNO): Union Minister for Road Transport and Highways, Nitin Gadkari on Tuesday assured Srinagar Member Parliament Aga Ruhullah Mehdi that the National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) is actively pursuing the issue of compensation disparity regarding the Srinagar Ring Road project with the District Collectors for the timely disbursement of the remaining compensation amount. In a letter to the MP, a copy of which is in possession of the news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO), Gadkari has also assured that the Detailed Project Report (DPR) for Phase-III of the project is in progress. The project is set to be included under the National Highways (O) scheme, subject to the DPR's outcome, he added. Regarding the access point at Patwa Road Budgam (at Ch. 22.321), the minister, according to the letter, said, "I would like to inform you that an underpass without a slip road has been provisioned in the CA. The feasibility for constructing access from the crossroad to the Ring Road at Ch. 22.321 is being explored based on the availability of ROW, utilities shifting requirements, etc." Gadkari also addressed specific issues related to access points and underpasses, including feasibility studies for new access points at Patwa Road Budgam. He said the government is also making progress on the construction of a footpath and a box culvert at Lalgam, Panzan—(KNO)
